Why is Sociology Important?

Sociology is important because it looks at the structure of society and how its components and institutions fit together. It helps us to understand how institutions can help to socialise individuals in society and this therefore provides a good insight into why we have different cultures. Sociology is good for comparing societies in the past to those that we have now and it can look at humanity and analyze it from different perspectives. It also provides us with the tools to measure interactions in society whether this be through the natural sciences or understanding the meanings that individuals give to their actions which is very useful in order to carry out our own individual project proposals.
